I had a selfish moment, and yelled to God, " Couldn't you take someone who didn't care about me!?!" I can imagine He probably gave me this look like, "No she didn't."
Well, I did. I don't have many people that I can call my true friend. Even those labeled as my "BEST friend" at times have proven to be ignorant to the term.
But, DANIELLE ELLARD- my crazy nut in crime, my eating buddy, that was my friend. She always called right when I needed someone genuine to talk to. I saw her number in my phone, and I just couldn't delete it Yes, I'm in denial. I wanna call her sooooo bad, but I can't deal with her not being on the other end.
No, I didn't know her all of my life, but we just had that connection. The last time I spoke to her we had a conversation about friendship....she said "it's like, if I had one can of pork-n-beans left and we had to eat, we gon split it and make it work, I'ma give you more in your bowl! And not think twice about it!"
That's a friend.LOL And dealing with stupid from people I've known longer than her, makes me value the relationship we had even more. Don't take people caring about you for granted, no matter who they are to you. Those sincere hearted people are hard to come by!
Don't take ME for granted, if I show I care....hey, I really honestly do. I take all of my relationships seriously.... If someone calls you, text, e-mail, whatever,.... hit em back! Hang out, enjoy them, don't be so self-absorbed, you are NOT that busy. As Fred Hammond said, Make TIME for Love.
I'm at peace that I did get a chance to have a heart-2-heart with Danielle before she passed (a week ago today), really tell her I appreciate her presence in my life. Let that be the same for you, tomorrow is never promised. Now, she's gone.
I miss my girl!
xoxo
